Inspiration Strikes
POSTED AT 07:02 AM

Hello inspiration, it's been a while. I thought you'd forgotten about me. I'm glad you came. You made me pick my pen up again, thank you. How I've missed it. I rather thought I'd never be able to write again. I was afraid that the writer in me had already died. But couldn't you have come at a better time? It's my examination week you see. But here I am, writing down all my ideas instead of studying for my tests. I hope you wouldn't leave so soon. And please do visit more often.

To Be Gorgeous is To Be Condemned
POSTED AT 04:37 PM

Subheading: With great looks (and moves) come great responsibility.

It all started out so simply. Five girls on a pre-Valentine's night out in Eastwood City. That's me, Kat, Jasmin, Girlie and Nicole. It was the end of our preliminary examinations and we were all so ready to de-stress and let loose.

Normally, we'd all meet up in my place to glam up and then we'd all go out together. That wasn't the case this time because it was also Chie's birthday celebration and I promised him I'd go. That was all fine and dandy with me, until he told me that his birthday celeb was the same date as our pre-valentine's thing. I compromised and went to Chie's party for dinner and a few drinks. At around 11pm I bid them all goodbye and Dennis gave me a ride to Eastwood to meet up with the girls in The Basement.

As usual, Kat had already struck up conversation with two guys on the table next to ours. I guess that's the only perk of being a smoker; it's a good conversation starter in a club/bar. ("'Scuse me, do you have a light? Thanks. By the way, I'm...") At that time, the music still sucked, and no one was dancing yet. I didn't get enough sleep the night before, so I was becoming drowsier by the second so I got up. Aba, I spotted quite a few other guys checking out our table, glancing none-too-sneakily at us. (You'll be seeing more of 'em later.)

Another of our goals was to meet people. And we did. We met quite a few..err..interesting people in that bar.
1. Jaysen and Jesse - the two new acquaintances Kat met. I also tried chatting with our two new acquaintances. Ugh, bad idea. They weren't bad looking but damn, they spoke like total dorks. That wouldn't be a problem if they didn't insist on dancing with us. One of them tried hitting on Jasmin and kept trying to impress us with his 'killer' moves. Gahd, can you say "off-beat"? I've never seen a worse dancer. Unless you count his companion, whose body lacked the grace and flexibility required for dancing.

2. Beyotch - highly unoriginal title, I know, but it fits her. Hot girl who thinks she's got hot moves. She and Nicole were eyeng the same guy. She literally shoved her way through to get to him. Within seconds, her ass was already pressed up against the guy's pelvis and his arms were around her waist. She had "Easy Lay" plastered all over her forehead.

3. The Leech - a guy Nicole had danced with who wouldn't keep his hands off her. Nicole was already trying to remove his arms from her waist but he wouldn't budge so she told him, in not so many words, to leave. He kept coming back to our group, trying to get one of us to dance with him but Nicole warned us about him.

4. Dirty old men - I didn't meet them per se. See,early in the night when the music sucked Jasmin and I went out of the bar to check our cellphones for calls or messages. Wala kasing signal dun sa loob. We also went o check out the scene in the Blue Onion. Music was better but there weren't many people so we headed back to The Basement. We found Kat with three other men whom I thought looked too old for a bar. It was dark so I couldn't be sure. When they came closer, we saw that the were too old for a bar. Jasmin and I grabbed Kat and headed for the ladies' room at the other end of the bar. We found Girlie and Nicole there, shredding calling cards that were apparently given to them by those men. They said they just started dancing with them, gave them their numbers. Disgusting.

5. The Bodyguard - There is an unwritten rule in places like these that to dance next to or behind someone is to invite him/her to dance with you. This guy, what he was doing couldn't be really defined as dancing. He just stood behind me, hardly moving. I was like, "Ano ba, nanakawan ata ako neto eh." I checked my pocket for my phone every five seconds to make sure it was still there. I would switch places with one of the other girls to get away from him, but he'd insist on "dancing" behind me. Kat got fed up and literally brushed him off with her ponytail. It was a hilarious scene. She danced in such a way that her thick ponytail would swish around and hit him in the face until he gave up. Pucha, sobrang mamamatay na'ko sa kakatawa nun.

6. Pelvic Grinder - my most memorable dance of the night. Without any warning whatsoever, he hooked his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. As the name I gave him implies, he kept grinding his pelvis into mine. Shocked and grossed out, I couldn't dance properly and tried to pull away. Girlie told me later that this guy and his friends were the same people who were seated in the table behind us. I decided then and there...to hell with meeting people. The male population in this joint were assholes. The five of us formed a circle and took to ignoring the rest of the crowd. We went here to have fun and these people were spoiling the night for us. We were kind of expecting to meet people like Rainier and Bryan, good dancers who were decent and good-looking. Delusional of us to think so.

7. Dirty Young Men - I think when we closed off our group, the people started to take notice.

You see, we were...well...we were fun. Or we were having fun. We danced our hearts out, laughing the entire time, screaming sometimes when we liked the song that was playing. I guess girls dancing (quite provocatively) with other girls were attractive to these people. And the fact that we wouldn't dance or even look at anybody else posed a challenge for them. It was as though there was an invisible wall around us. Before long, another circle (a circle of guys) formed around us. The Leech, Pelvic Grinder and Bodyguard were among them. Some people just didn't know when to quit, eh?

At first, it was only a few of them, dancing behind us trying to get us to dance with them. Then the number grew and our inner circle started to feel very small. It felt like they were closing in on us. They were also doing this strange thing of signaling to each other. Ewan ko ba, basta senyasan sila ng senyasan, kahit hindi naman sila magkakakilala. Probably tired of waiting, they started touching us conspicuously to get our attention. Nangangalabit kumbaga. We got fed up and left to get drinks. We looked down at the dance floor then and were quite surprised to find the empty space we left. Parang butas yung area. It was as though our 'supporters' also left when we did.

I kinda thought it was funny though, how they seemed so desperate to dance with us. I mean, there were other women in that bar, other more attractive women in microminiskirts and ultratight-fitting tops, so why won't they leave us alone, right? We also noticed that even the seemingly 'taken' men were watching us, despite the fat that their girlfriends were huddled so close to them. Unfaithful pricks.

Nicole said that we attracted that much attention because they noticed we were having fun and wanted to join in. Kat said magaganda lang talaga kame. I'm not arguing with that. ^o^;

By the end of the night, it was as if everyone in the bar knew who we were. Not by name, of course since we hardly talked to anybody, but by how we looked. Or how we were dressed. Naman, I was wearing a hot pink top, with gold embroidery. Parang bandila, kahit sa malayo tanaw mo na.

We left the bar shortly after that, and just sat outside one of the nearby restos to chat and have breakfast. we waited until sunrise before hailing a cab to take us home.

A few realizations...I realized just how much I missed my friends. It's only with them that I can really let loose and let my guard down and completely be myself, probably because I've known them for so long.

...and that even though we rarely have time to be together, anything that we do when we are together becomes very memorable. Murphy's Law could try, but he can never really win against lifelong friendship.

So despite the setbacks and incidences, this night has become one of the best nights of my life.

Narcolepsy, Chocolate Addiction and Fiction Fixation
POSTED AT 09:39 AM

That about sums up how my week has gone.

My studying for the exams practically zapped off all the energy I had, and I've been feeling more tired than usual. I'd be all drowsy in class, and when I get home, I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the sheets and I won't wake up 'til the following day. That can't be good, right?

Chocolate addiction....I just can't seem to get past a day without invading my private stash. I'm trying to limit my consumption but what the hey, I need endorphins.

Fiction fixation...because I'm becoming more and more hooked to this thing I'm writing. I just managed to fill in a plothole (thanks to Mela's help) and am now hopelessly glued to the computer once more. So far I finished chapters 4 and 5 and on my way to write chapter 6 (all the while gorging myself with Hershey's Hugs...ahh heaven). I've even enlisted the help of my brother Nero and classmates Tim and JR to help me with the proper music. I know, it's not like I'm directing a movie or anything, but having background music helps get me in the mood, and get the proper tone for the story.

Other events for this week include a killer basketball game for Phys Ed and the exam results coming in.

Killer basketball game...Mack and Trish decided to skip PE that day, because they thought we wouldn't have a game (we were assigned as referees last meeting). But the scheduled games finished faster than we thought, and before we knew what was happening, our PE prof told us we were going to play next.

Now that would be all fine and dandy...except for the fact that we lacked to players, and only had one spare. I do not have an athletic muscle in my body, but I liked the game...I just hope I had the stamina for it. All I could do was assist my teammates, since I was a very poor shooter. Good thing Mela was such a good player; she was our main point-getter. Hell, she's even better than our male teammates. Even Michelle and Lourdes surprised us with a few moves of their own. Seeing how tired we were, our prof postponed the last quarter of the game until next meeting. Just so you know, we're ahead by at least ten points.

Exam scores...hell yeah! All the late nights paid off! I was actually fearing my test scores, since my head wasn't really cooperating during the review phase. I was much too preoccupied with my story's plot to concentrate on any real work, so I thought I would surely flunk all my tests. The scores I got were pretty good, actually. Thank you God, for saving my hide.

Hmm...what else. Kat and I hung out for a little while. Yep, that's note-worthy because we hardly have the time to do that anymore.

Paolo's got his eye on someone and is actually bringing on the moves. And while he's asking for advice on how to get the girl, the conversation somehow steered in my direction and he said, rather unceremoniously, that I tend to be overpowering. (Don't ask how we got to that topic; long story). And I guess it just clicked. That's why I don't have a boyfriend yet. I haven't met anyone who could match my personality.

I made Chie a CD for his birthday. It comprised of songs which I thought were related to him in some way. Happy Birthday Sef! Hope you liked it!

Frederick sprained his ankle. Wala lang, I just thought it's funny. Landi kasi eh. Hahaha.

Yun.

I hafta go. Narcolepsy strikes again. Ja.

x Tarot x

Do you want to know what your tarot card is?

Positive: The Star represents hopes and dreams and the optimism associated with realizing ones hearts desires. The Star is the initial spark of hope that arises from the dust when everything around us seems desolate and bleak. The Star is a renewal of faith in life and our Creator. It represents regeneration and renewal of all the good that life has to offer. The Star also represents the limitless possibilities that life has to offer, from our childish wishes to the high ideals we hold as adults. The Star is the guiding light we have been wishing on all of our lives in hopes of a better tomorrow. While similar to the motivation behind The Fool card, The Star differs in that we have hope beyond whatever our fears may bring. It represents a moment of peace, a reflection of light, or the wonderment of a child.

Negative: Reversed this card represents the loss of all hope, a pessimistic attitude, or succumbing to depression. It can also depict an overly rational point of view or one without any ideals. A minimalist or someone without motivation.
